No overlap with any other classes at the club and a buffer of time between our sessions and any prior session in an effort to prevent unnecessary contact with students from other programs.
Our coaches disinfect the mats prior to our classes.
We wipe down (bleach solution - disinfection grade) all high touch surface areas prior to our classes.
The club restroom is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to our classes. This includes a detailed wipedown of items such as door handles, sink, faucet controls, towel dispenser, toilet and its flushing mechanism, and all grab handles.
We provide and require use of hand sanitizer as students and coaching staff enter the dojo. We have this set up in a conspicuous location in the entry area of the school.
We educate our students and staff on the importance of respecting others space (6' rule) and things that we can all do to limit our exposure to the Coronavirus.
We have modified our programming so that students are not sharing the same mat area during exercises, drills, or skill developement sessions.
We require students and coaches to wear masks during our sessions per current state mandate and have adjusted our workouts accordingly. Because we care about the health and safety of our students we are limiting the level of work they do in our classes while the mask mandate is in effect. The great news is that we are still able to work on our skills effectively and safely!
During our skill sessions each student will be partnered with only one student for that entire session. Pairings are determined at the beginning of each class and late arrivals will be turned away from any participation. Parents/Guardians of more than one youth student in the program may insist that their children be partnered with only each other.
All demonstrations performed by our club coaches are done so with the use of only one Uke (partner) during our sessions. This person is chosen at the beginning of class and will always be another coach or assistant instructor when possible. Coaches will not be using students as Uke's.
Our club coaches have been instructed to enforce all dojo rules including our most recent additions addressing COVID-19. Failure for a student to comply with our rules may result in dismissal of that student from class.
New student enrollment is being accepted for sessions starting in July 2020, however this is a soft date and may be extended. At this time we are not permitting new students on the mat.
NEW DOJO RULES
Any student or staff member who is feeling sick should stay home. We DO NOT want you at the club!
Students should come suited and ready for class if at all possible. This limits the use of our shared spaces. If a student needs to change at the club we will be monitoring when the changing rooms are in use so that each space is occupied by only one student at a time. Lines for use of those spaces will not be permitted.
Uniforms worn at class must be freshly laundered.
Masks must be worn inside the dojo at all times.
Hand sanitizer (provided by club) must be applied upon entering the dojo. We have a station set up for this.
Late arrivals will be turned away.
All students and staff must respect others space (6' rule) at all times.
Touching of the face is not permitted while in the dojo. Failure to comply could result in class dismissal.
Class opening (bow in) shall be done at arms length (x2). With everyone lined up and all arms extended no one should be able to touch each other.
Spectators will not be permitted in the club at this time. Parents may watch from outside the club if they wish, but it is recommended that they respect the space of those around them.
Walk-ins are not permitted at this time. All club inquiries should be done via phone or online.
Restroom breaks should be limited to necessity only and all students will be expected to wash hands thoroughly immediately following. The coaching staff may require a student to apply hand sanitizer in addition to hand washing after a restroom break. This is the only way we can make sure that a students hands have been properly sanitized.
Our students are expected to obey the rules of the club at all times. These rules are in place to help protect the health and safety of all our highly valued dojo family members (all students, coaches and staff).
